Ha! Found Some of My Old Songs on MySpace

Danger Mouth concert. Rexburg, Idaho 2007

One of my co-workers showed me his old Myspace profile and I showed him mine. Had some good laughs. I have some songs I produced uploaded there quite a few years ago. Decided to share them here.

I loved making this song. These are some of the first vocals I recorded. This was recorded in Provo, Utah in 2008. When I wasn’t on tour and my bad, Love You Long Time, was, MC Oz would play this while the band was setting up. I remember feeling so proud when he came up to me and said, “Dude! This song is so dope! I play it before every show now.”

Made this one in 2009. I still love it. This is about the time when Justice came out, so I was into heavier beats with a duck. This is one of those songs I made that still speaks to my soul for producing music. It’s almost a lost art to me now. 5 years ago I would spend 4+ hours per day making music–never tired of it.

I loved making this song and it has some cool things happening. This is a raw cut recorded by MC Oz of Love You Long Time recorded in his rental in Rexburg, Idaho.

Lullabye from Tycon8000 on Myspace.

This snippet has some pretty cool sounds I made myself with…I forget which VST, but I loved it at the time. I could crank out some dope sounds twisting knobs and adding filters and fx.

Here is the first vocal recording of I Had U Wrong, circa 2006.

Butterscotch Lollipops – still on of my favorite beats and cuts. You can hear me on the backup vocals in the chorus.

My friend Jacob Rosen played a little guitar for me that I cut up and made this slow jam inProvo, UT 2008.

This is another cut where I asked Jacob Rosen to play me some guitar. This is one of my slow jams that still speaks to my soul. Love Rhodes pianos. So smooth and full of feeling.

And an extra one for good measure 🙂

The Making of “All Night” + Remixes and Download

When Brian and I made “All Night,” it was magic. Knocked it out in one night. The beat and lyrics were written en-lieu of a girl who I was dating cheated on me. You can hear the frustration of what to do with the situation in the lyrics. I wrote most of the lyrics and melody. Just flowed. We both agreed that we needed to let the band finish the song without any music on my part for the ending. As you hear, the band killed it. When they showed me what they came up with, I was amazed and so pumped. Oz and I had so many songs like that. We just clicked on what we heard, did and created. This one was an inspirational night of music making.

Lindsey Stirling – ‘Stars Align’ Competition : I Won!

I recently decided to take a stab at a video for a Lindsey Sterling competition. In total, I had about 7 days to make the video.

I used to produce and compose music for a band called Love You Long Time, decided to take the liberty of putting my own personal touch on Lindsey’s Star’s align song with an original remake.

After 5 hours of cutting and producing, and about 2 hours of dancing, filming and video editing…. I uploaded what might’ve been the crappiest video ever (what can you do when you’re up against a deadline, right?).

You REALLY wanna see it? Ok, here it is:

2 days after submitting this puppy to Lindsey’s competition, I found out that I had won! Oh yeah!

Thank you, Lindsey Stirling 🙂
